Hello

I would like to ask the main difference between the Ecn and non-ecn account.
If I'm considering myself trend follower trader, what should i choose and why.
Please post some pros and cons about ecn accounts in general.

Hello – We’d be happy to help with this.

Our Pro Accounts (ECN or Non-Dealing Desk) and our Standard Accounts (Dealing desk) have a couple of key differences to keep in mind when deciding which to open.
The primary difference between ECN and non-ECN accounts is the trade execution type that each uses. NDD accounts use what is called market execution, meaning that NDD accounts will not receive re-quotes if a price shifts from the time the order was placed until the time that the order reaches the market - you will simply receive the closest price in the market to the order price.

Pro Accounts also have tighter spreads available between the bid and ask price of various instruments, this may be of a significant benefit to you if you operate shorter term trades. You can find the spreads for Pro Accounts here: http://www.admiralmarkets.com/trader/pro-cspecs/

Another important difference between the account types is based on the initial deposit requirements. Our Pro Accounts have an initial deposit requirement of 1,000 USD or the equivalent in another currency, while a Standard Account can be opened with a deposit as low as 10 Euro or USD.

Finally, there is a commission on Pro/ECN accounts, though it is a very low 0.004% of the volume of the trade.

So ultimately, which account type you get will depend on what aspect of Forex you are most focused on. NDD accounts have tighter spreads, and do not receive re-quotes, which is obviously very important for some trade strategies. However if these things are less important to you, then you may wish to consider a Standard Account. Whichever you choose, we’ll be happy to help you open the account and get the process started as soon as you would like.

Let us know if you have any additional questions around this and we’ll be happy to help.
